where do you recommend to stay as a base when visiting capri, sorrento, amalfi, positano, pompeii? Naples or Sorrento or somewhere else? We have rented a car but will park at the accommodation and use the ferry instead?

I went to Capri at the end of April 2024. Your advice is very helpful. It wasn’t clear where the tickets were for the funicular ( just from the signs). Many people were in line without a ticket. The wait wasn’t too long, but it still was very crowed in Capri. We took a walk up in the hills in the neighborhood which was perfect-fewer people, beautiful views and even a cafe ( with prices in the menu). Very short wait to go back down to the port. Can’t imagine going in high season.

Out of the sunlight it is blue, IF it is under fluorescent mercury vapor lighting. Not under any other type of artificial light. So he is lying.

Absolutely best way, just book a water taxi. You can usually add an extra 30 min grand canal cruise. Might as well arrive in style!

Absolutely love the scenic shots. My family of 4 all have luggage each (larger than check in). Do the ferries charge extra to carry this on board? You’ve convinced me to take the ferry from Naples to Amalfi to my accomodation.

A lot of helpful information, especially about the bus routes. The €80 that taxis charge, is that per trip? Does destination also matter like other taxis? If they charge €80 for each trip that’s really expensive.
